The problem
Breaking Through Legal Workflow Barriers
A platform faced critical limitations that hindered its effectiveness for modern legal teams.
The user interface was outdated and unintuitive, resulting in friction during day-to-day operations.
Navigating between clients, matters, and tasks was inefficient, with no clear way to maintain context, which slowed down workflows and increased frustration.
Dashboards were rigid and lacked customization, preventing users from surfacing the insights and actions most relevant to their roles. Search capabilities were weak, relying on exact-match queries and delivering slow, often inaccurate results. Additionally, the platform struggled with screen responsiveness, resulting in display inconsistencies that affected usability across different devices. These shortcomings underscored the urgent need for a more modern, responsive, and intelligent solution, one that MatterSphere 9.0 set out to deliver.

The design solution for MatterSphere 9.0 focused on delivering a smarter, faster, and more intuitive user experience tailored to the needs of modern legal professionals. The platform was completely redesigned with a clean, modern interface, enhanced navigation through breadcrumb trails and forward/back buttons, and customizable dashboards that allowed users to surface relevant information at a glance.
Seamless integration with Microsoft Office was preserved while improving workflow fluidity, and advanced search powered by Elasticsearch enabled quick, natural language queries with accurate results. The responsive, accessibility-conscious design ensured consistent performance across devices, empowering users to work efficiently, stay organized, and manage complex legal matters with ease and confidence.
